Co-Founder

Rheia is currently Director of Collaborative Research and Partnerships Fin-ML Network in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Montreal and at IVADO, where she is developping a new training program in Machine Learning in Quantitative Finance and Business Analytics.

Prior to that, Rheia has accumulated approximately 15 years of industry experience - primarily as an actuarial and risk management consultant at Ernst & Young, one of the largest professional services firms and as an investment analyst at Fiera Capital, a leading asset management firm in Canada.

Rheia holds a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Mathematics / Minor in Business Studies from Concordia University and a Master's degree in Quantitative Finance and Risk Management from the University of Zurich / Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst.

Having professionally grown in a male predominant industry, Rheia holds it at heart to demystify male roles to become more accessible to women, and to retain them as they go through motherhood. She is very keen to train the next generation and to help adapt the traditional workplace setting to be more in line with the evolving diverse  landscape and with the new realities that we are facing today.

Rheia has lots of fun extracting trends, metrics and concrete information from the jumble of big data! She truly believes that the development of artificial intelligence will help tackle some of the world’s most challenging social problems, develop sustainable economies, empower economies,  and at the very least make our lives easier. She hopes to implement these technological improvements at different stages of Le Mat Bar’s development.
